  5. IMPORTANT!  Before going any further, please read and accept
  6. the terms in the LICENSE file.

  8. This beta version of Netcape Navigator will expire on Mar. 15, 1996.

  10. Netscape Navigator  2.0 Java Beta 1 is available for PowerMacs only.
  11.  
  12. Release notes for this version of Netscape Navigator are available
  13. online.

  15. After starting the program, select "Release Notes" from the "Help" 
  16. (Balloon Help or AppleGuide) menu.

  18. To submit bugs, use the "How To Give Feedback" option, also on the
  19. "Help" menu, which will take you to the URL:

  29. Installation Instructions

  31. Installation Steps:
  32.  
  33. 1) Download the .HQX file to your Macintosh.  If you are using Netscape
  34. to do the download and your machine is correctly configured, Netscape
  35. will automatically run the correct program to decode the .HQX file.  If
  36. not, you wil need to use one of the many utilities which can decode
  37. .HQX files (Binhex format), we recommend something in the StuffIt
  38. family of products, such as "StuffIt Expander"

  40. 2) To install Netscape Navigator  2.0 Java Beta 1, double click the installer.

  42. a)  Click "Install" to place a binary of Netscape Navigator  2.0 Java Beta 1 on
  43. your hard drive. This will also install a Java
  44. folder within the Netscape preferences folder. This folder contains files
  45. needed for Java to run on your Macintosh.

  47. 3) Remember to read the release notes mentioned above.  They contain
  48. helpful and up-to-date information about running this version of the
  49. Navigator.
